[QUOTE=Steve Swan;174145]Wondering who's following Kevin's adventure /QUOTE]
I have been gathering as many shreds on info as possible and Brenda and Kevin's blog is one as well as Cannonball Run on Facebook. Hope Kevin's problems aren't anything that will cause him major problems. But if anyone can deal with it Kevin can.
Here is what Brenda said after yesterday's stage.
"We are done with the fourth day and I am sorry to say poor Patience had to take her first "bus" ride . We got the text only a short time after they took off this morning. Turns out he made about 57 miles before she slowly seized up on him. After getting into the parking lot to work on her tonight, they were able to lube up the pistons and it started but did not sound good! The search is to find the noise problem now. I heard them say magneto. All I know is I hope she gets out tomorrow!"
How much of Kevin's build thread and comments from a number of followers talked about the magneto as a source of potential problem. Of course we don't know yet was the actual cause.

In regard to Kevin’s trouble on the 11th he worked it out. Here is Brenda’s comments from their blog.
“Here we are in Bourbonnais, Illinois. I am happy to tell you that Patience is once again out on the road where she likes it best! It was a bit long last night as the boys worked until about 1:30 am getting her in running condition for today! It took taking off the new magneto and putting the old one back on with some timing adjustments and she sounds better. Kevin was able to make all the miles today without incident.”

Thanks all, for keeping the thread alive while I was on the Cannonball. What a great group. I'm proud to be a part of it.
I'm off to pay my penance and do a project for work. It's the price I pay. I might not have much time to post until I get back, but I will keep this thread alive.
Here is a video of the last 3 miles, and the finish.

Nice job on the Cannonball Kevin! Your build(s) reports made you my favorite to follow. (...a little "weavy" on the bridge deck, eh? I hate those things!)
...and big kudos to the guy who rode to the start and rode home at the end...even after his Indian caught on fire!Pisten Bully is Harry Roberts in Vermont.
