I passed over that pic, just a couple of mean looking kids on Pappy's motorcycle. I would be very interested in reading their trip journal if they kept one. I would have ridden the Honda I had when I was 13 to the coast, if my parents would have allowed it. Lucky, those Abernathy boys.

It is a great pic isn't it? Times were certainly different that's for sure. Nowadays you just wouldn't let the young'uns stray that far now would you?

The bike on the far left looks like another make. I wonder what it is.

Speaking of early girl riders, Clara Wagner was up there with the best. Her father, George Wagner, was the proprietor of the motorcycle company. She would have been active around say 1910 or so. One of our favorite periods as the bikes were still simple yet pretty darn fast and very cool.

There's the problematic 1909 twin again. The year sign on the fender tells us it's a Factory collection bike. Not sure the photo vintage. Does the photo have a neg number on it?

It is a photo I found on the net.
This appears to be a newer photo of the same bike. It looks like it also sufferd at the hands of the restoration folks.
