I imagine that the motorcycle is a 1941 but the picture is definitely taken after WW2 judging by all the bling that has been added.Originally posted by JoJo357 View Post

I understand in regard to the photos you posted above. I was looking into the 1940 date of purchase of new club grounds and the first event held at new grounds. The June 1940 100 mile TT race was still held at the old club grounds.Originally posted by duffeycyclesNothing says this was the new club grounds, it could have been the old grounds. If that is a '40 or later Indian, that is the only indication that Sep 1939 was the earliest possible.

Another Wisconsin program just north of Illinois border, near Kenosha & Chicago.Track open 1953-1956.This is the only thing I have seen with motorcycle racing at this track. drew some big names. I'm amazed how some would travel to these tracks back in the day. Brad Andreas from San Diego, Joe Leonard San Jose etc.

Interesting choice of cover photo on the Wilmot program for a motorcycle road race. After the Milwaukee Mile was paved in 1954 there was motorcycle road racing held at state fair park 1956-1958, named the Badger Motorcycle Road Race Classsic. That may have been a one and done road race at Wilmot.
Here are the 1954 results.

Thanx Badger, I was wondering if you had heard of Motorcycles at Wilmot. They stated for Dirt track & TT racers & the pic looks like TT to me ! Flying Ks are cool. There are simple ads for all of the greater Chicagoland HD dealers assn. & others. No Indian ads in this 1954 program.

Definitely flying K's are Kool !
Looking at other 1954 Wilmot motorcycle race newspaper clippings and ads they all say road race on 1 mile black top road course. I would say that Leonard's winning average speed of nearly 69 mph speaks to road course and not TT also. Interesting that the program states for TT and dirt track racers.Last edited by badger34; 03-12-2026, 02:43 PM.

You've been finding some good ones JoJo. That Triumph reminds me of the Norton my brother had. He bought an ugly as Fk High rider with the lean foreward motor & put in a stripped down a rigid chassis. That thing was fast & fun but shifting a Norton was a nightmare for us Harley guys until you had a couple laps around the block on it.
