    And moving on, where are all the old maintenance records of those CHP bikes, as mentioned by Jerry Hatfield in his Flatheads book? When that 100 mph speed run was made in 1935, the CHP owned about 600 bikes, nearly all Harleys, at a time when the factory produced about 6,000 Big Twins a year. If a bike lasted about two years in Police service, then 5% of all 1935 Harleys would have been California Highway Patrol bikes. But which ones?
