This is a J, and probably '20 or '21 based on the gear cover, and lighter color as '22s were Brewster Green. It has the pedal start transmission which was probably modified for hand starting by the disabled rider. I notice the trans was painted to match the bike and surmise it was a factory job.

This is a very interesting picture, certainly appears 2b possibly a factory picture judging by the signage, "Manufacturers of Motorcycles," along with the suit and tie executive type in the passenger seat. Badger, i eagerly await your thoughts!

Steve, I also believe that photo can be attributed to the H-D factory and would say it dates circa 1912-13. Must be all dressed up for a big Decoration Day or July 4th parade. There is a later H-D Rosenkrans photo dated 1915 by the H-D Archives showing an empty company flatbed truck #4 with the completed 3700 factory building and garage in the background. An interesting side note to this is that both trucks in the photos were manufactured by the Stegeman Motor Car Co of Milwaukee. I have information that Arthur Davidson by 1917 had obtained a large financial interest in Stegeman and it's reported that he probably would be dividing his time between the two factories.Steve Swan

No, I'm not gonna hazard a guess. I have a better copy of that photo on file and compared the likeness against other images of key H-D figures I have and can't confirm an ID. I will say that I'm certain the individual is not one of the four founders. Did you have a thought as to who it might be?Steve Swan
