That's a nicely accesorised '56, Bob. With windshield, dual exhaust, and rare color coordinated Royalite saddlebags available in Pepper Red or Atomic Blue. In fact, that picture was used on the cover of the 1956 Parts book. A popular two tone was Atomic Blue with yellow panel. The girl is wearing "Saddle" shoes; popular with teens girls in the mid 50's

Bob, this wonderful picture is interesting in that it shows 8 bikes representing perhaps at least 3 different model years... As i am always interested in the pre-1930 IoE twins i am making observations and asking questions. I downloaded the picture so i could enlarge it.

All 8 appear to be total loss lubrication in that i can see the oil pipe on each machine leading from the tank to the crankcase. (Bike #4 is a bit difficult to see the oil pipe which does appear partially hidden behind the front crash bar).

Bike #'s 3, 5 and 6 appear J-type bikes given all 3 have what appear to have Sager-type forks; bike 2 has pre-1925 tanks; bikes 5 & 6 have front brakes and one headlight suggesting 1928 models...

Details on post-29 bikes, my knowledge base quickly goes to zero...

Bikes #'s 2, 4, 7 & 8 all appear to have 1931-type electric non-motor horns and the post-Sager-type forks with the Ride-Control accessory forks seen beginning 1933...? Bike #1 does not have a Ride-Control...?

What i am wondering is, looking at bikes 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8, is coming up with a guess on what year this picture may have been taken? What year(s) bikes 1, 2, 4, 7 & 8 are? Given number plates on all the bikes, these riders were gathered for an event...? And, i'm wondering what the "PMC" pennant hanging of bike # 5's handlebar might signify, perhaps winning an award or suggesting a club sponsoring the event? not the golf club, ha-ha... (given the background)

Steve, 2 and 4 are probably '36 Knuckleheads. Check no left side air cleaner (carb exits other side) fork dampener is different from V model as is the horn face and front brake.
