I know this is from a year ago, but I recently bought a 1941 Chief frame (771) and am using it to collect parts for a build. Definitely a civilian restoration eventually, but I am using an EU rear fender and front fender. One thing that is confusing at this point is finding the correct fuel tanks. Can someone post a mounted mock-up view of what the correct 40-45 tanks looked like?
Here are a couple I have found looking online, but I don't know if they are correct.
1941 to 1945 Indian Chief Fuel Tanks 1.jpg 1947 Chief Tanks.jpg Just for contrast, I have posted what one seller calls 1947 Chief tanks (gray) and if you compare the instrument panel cut-outs, they are different. The 47 is shorter and has two curves whereas the one identified as 40-45 has one curve and is longer. You can visibly see the curve continues clearly below the reserve fuel channel. I would appreciate it if someone could post the same view of a verified set of 41-45 Chief tanks.
Thanks.
