Had tons of compliments at the meet. A great weekend at Oley as usual.
Being as the filter is an accessory you shouldn't have been docked points for it.

Original clamps are no longer available. The new ones are very similar but someone who knows will spot them. But with that being said fluid lines and their clamps are "Service Items" and can be a replacement part. Sam thing with bulbs, chains, tires, Plug wires, plugs, ETC. Anything routinely changed during service.

Bottom line to me is you have very. very nice bike and you should be proud to own it and I hope that you ride it end enjoy it. That is what they were made for.

          Chris,

You being a judge at one time, or currently, I do not know, are aware there is no, "100 point" bike. Yeah, once in a blue moon someone somehow achieves that elusive number, but there is always some how, some where, a bike that is minutely more correct, cleaner or whatever than another. Be it a little more corrosion on something that does not match the rest of the bike, frayed wire sheathing or whatever it may be. So with that in mind, that 100 pointer does not exist. I believe there was a 1980 FX something that was at Oley that reached 99.75 with the only incorrect items being 4 hose clamps on the gas line. When he changes them, will he achieve that elusive number?? I am sure there will be found some other minute detail to keep it from 100 and rightly so. There is no perfect bike. Both of these owners should be on top of the moon as these bikes are fine examples of original bikes that can be used for comparison purposes when doing a restoration. Kudos to both of these owners and hope they ride their treasures carefully and keep them as examples for the rest of us to enjoy.

I put 80 miles on it last weekend and enjoyed every one. It runs so good it's like riding a new 1967 Harley. With that said I hate to rack up miles on it.

Two schools of thought on the mileage issue. One keep them low and spend all your time looking at it or ride it and try for a million miles but keep it cleaned and maintained and show it is capable of being used, not abused and still stand the test of time and usage. Both admirable but your choice! Have fun either way!!!!
