  • Alemite extension on brake crossover tube

Should I use an extension (see photo attached) or not?
    See photo attached.
If I use it, the fitting is too close to the oil filter return line.
Chris H. already provided me with a factory photo that definitely shows it to be a straight fitting. Thanks, Chris.
But the extension/adapter causes it to be a little long. Going for those last few points, so this matters greatly to me.
    Oh, for a '55 FLH.
    Thanks,
    Wayne

The post at CAI answered the straight vs the 67 1/2 degree question but not the extension question. Extension or no extension?
BTW, the AMCA website was down most of the day. Or is that old news?
      Thanks,
      Wayne

          And the day before that.
As for the extension, thee factory photo shows a straight fitting with no extension.

THAT I can see! When I save any of your pics to my PC and then try to blow them up, they get fuzzy/blurred.
This "no extension required" makes sense as now the grease gun can fit onto the fitting. Thanks, Chris.

I never under stood why the factory didn't use a 67.5 degree grease fitting that would have made so easy to get to the fitting. I think the book even called for the angle one. Bob L

If you are using a reproduction oil line chances are good it is not correct.

                          I had the same thought.

In the case of the oil filter line I'd use the angle one. If a judge calles ya on it. Hand the genuine HD parts book. Bob L

What if the judge hands you this photo?
