Hello everyone,
The local museum has given us the 1960 FLH Duo Glide they had on display, in order to correct, recommission and return.
The motorcycle was the leading motorcycle in the motorcade of the first president (part of three HD’s - the other two were 61 FL’s)
The costs will be covered by our company as i believe we have a duty to recommission and correct one of the first (if not the first) H-D registered on the island.
During an escort the motorcycle was involved in an accident and the policeman lost his life.
The 3 Panheads were decommissioned with very low miles in favor of the lighter Triumphs (as the Police riders claimed back then).
Unfortunately there had been efforts to repair and “restore” the 1960 FLH, by the museum in 1998, which was done incorrectly.
The bike was painted over the OP
The bike was originally painted the gorgeous hifi blue / birch white and was equipped with the chrome and police option groups.
This motorcycle is amazing whatever we took off is brand new
We managed to take the paint off the left tank to uncover parts of the OP but most importantly the pinstripe
