    I’m assuming this is a cheap reproduction? I have a correct M5 just curious as I never saw this before

      So far, it only appears to me that the somebody ground upon the idle side casting, for some unknown reason...

          I don't think it is repop but it looks like it was lightly polished and maybe chromed at one time.

          With those numbers gone on the left side maybe somebody took a different carb and faked it as a M%.

            There are reproduction M88, M51 and M51L Linkerts coming out of Europe and I think they made some M5 versions at the time. I would not call them cheap, say $800.

              those obscured letters can result from using too much pressure or aggressive medium and method in your blast cabinet.

                Why wasn't the boss with the stamped 4 obliterated, Grease Monkey?

                (My ALOX cabinet at average 90 psi would take days to remove that much bronze!)

                My notes show only M5s had a 4 stamp there.
