  • Wheels?

What are these wheels? Looks like a rare front with brake? Raer is a Corbin hub but no brake drum so racer or does the drum mount somehow? SS850542.jpgSS850543.jpg

Front not rare. Looks like H-D 125 "Hummer," 1940s-50s to me, but it might be some Brit or European little titter bike, too.

Rear is a clincher rim, so before 1930 or so. See the splines on one side? Brake drum slid on them, sprocket around brake drum. Not sure of the exact model. Harley's used that system until 1936 on the VL.

The second picture is JD rear hub 1923 up. It takes roller bearings not ball bearings. Hope this helps. Bob L

I see where the sporket mounts but where does the brake drum mount?

No! The JD front brake didn't start until 28 and it's an entirely different animal. I don't know anybody that is reproducing the rear brake drum at this point. I will have them on the market by the end of the year. I'm trying to build a better mouse trap. Do yourself a favor and get on line and buy HD book #99404-93 and you will be a happier camper! Bob L

That is not an H-D front wheel. It appears to be for a lightweight British bike. Note that it is only 36 spoke!

The best advice I can give you is the following. Get the parts book for the year machine you are working on. Know exactly what you are buying before you buy it. Do it right so you won't have to do it over. ;-)
