My brother finally gave me our grandfathers beemer after no interest from his kids or grandkids. 47,000 miles on it , last registered in 1979. It’s leaving its longtime home in socal for a new life in taxachusettes. I did get it running during a visit back in 2008 and that’s it. Very odd kicking that bike after 40 years kicking Harley’s, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I know that I’m replying to my own post but I don’t really know how do this . Working on it.

JC, You will love that bike.Originally posted by Jcadams View Post
They are a blast to ride and easy to maintain. I built a 1976 R90/6 for my father when he retired many years ago and he put over 100,000 miles on it.
I have many great memories riding the backroads and road tripping with him on my 48 Pan. Very cool that it was your grandfathers.
Thank You for posting.Member # 8964

Congratulations on your acquisition, glad your brother finally let you be the caretaker. Old BMWs are a lot of fun. It might take you a bit to get used to the quirky handling too!
Here is my '55 R69. I have a '65 R69S and a '80 R100RS mixed in with the H-D and Brit stuff... DCP_2726.JPGRobbie Knight Amca #2736
