        • Awesome tribute by a son to his father. You sir are an artisan. Thank you for allowing us a Birds eye seat.

          • Well thanks all, but we are a ways from being done. Did get her out of the basement today, back into the sunshine

As you can see she’s sporting some cut down bars to fit up my basement steps. Now to put everything back on so I can get that exhaust straightened out. 40 degrees and windy, I was spoiled working in the basement I’ll tell you.

                  • Anxious to hear how your first ride went, Joe. I know it's not easy to fit everything into a busy life schedule; and, particularly the things you WANT to do.

                    • Eric,

I'm anxious too but a few things to do. Got the bike back and took the pipes off to paint. Gotta shim the kicker crank out as much as I can, the kicker just misses the pipe but I want to add a little more clearance. Also got to make up all the oil fittings that I left loose till the pipes were done. Almost there.....

                        • I like that you left the chain guard natural. The painted ones always made Indians look 'weird' to this Harley guy. Great job!

                          • The chain guard is actually chromed for some reason, and since I wanted to leave it like he rode it I left it alone. Same for the shield on the forks behind the headlight, chrome instead of paint. Wouldn’t be my choice, but it is what it is….

                            • The exhaust system needed some tweaking, or rather some adjustments needed to be made for the exhaust. The kicker crank just barely cleared so the kicker had to move out. I swapped out the stock setup with the retaining ring and spacer, put the spacer behind the kicker and used a snap ring and shim on the outside.

                              resulting in better clearance.

                              IMG_9830.jpeg

Also knocked the corner of the kicker stop to clear the muffler.

Satisfied with that time for paint.

                              • I was thinking I’d have her finished for Oley but that didn’t work out, but technically it is still Oley weekend and she’s finally all together. Put on the painted exhaust, now add some dead dinosaur products and hope to fire her up this week…..
