Somewhere I had read that a contributing factor in Steve's lung cancer was that he wore asbestos face protection when he raced. That sounded a bit hokey to me because I thought Nomex had been around for quite a few years.Originally posted by Chris Haynes View PostEric Smith

McQueen died at the age of 50 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, following an operation to remove or reduce several metastatic tumors in his abdomen.
