sounds like were all kicking a dead horse here .......wouldnt it get the boards attention if 5000 members held onto their dues for one year ,or two?same goes with property taxes ,someone will have to look at the masses eventually.they are not going to come completely clean with us because THEY DONT HAVE TO!you all can keep sending them money ,I WILL NOT!ive allready gotten my "THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE PARDNER"notice in the mail.so be it .but i will not send money to an organization that cant even mail a magazine on time , ill bet that 400 grand check was made out in a timely fashion.like several folks before me said, what the hell do we have half a million dollars for anyways?

      cheifrider,
As frustrating as this situation may be, it ain't the end of the world......or the club.
You can't make a difference unless you participate. I see a very nice collection of bikes in your signature, meaning you share the passion. Give some thought to sticking it out. Out of your 210 posts on the forum i'm sure your experiences have helped a few fellow members, and you enjoyed doing so.

Chiefrider, I agree with JWW, even with concern over the boards lack of comunication I am not dropping out. The only way change will happen is it to voice your concerns over and over untill someone listens. If you take notice there might only be a few on this forum talking but it looks like over three thousand are listening to whats being said. With over four thousand registered I say the word is spreading better comunication is needed.

Johnny is right on the money here chiefrider. There is power in numbers. I can understand your frustrations and believe the delivery issue (or non-delivery) should have been addressed long before this foundation issue. Untill I see prof, I will voice my opinion in order to find out just what is going on. And if I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it and appologise.

you know i kinda agree with you guys .but,,,,,,this new foundation is being fed by us. and we want answers , the club itself is also fed by us and over time we have requested answers , mainly on the magazine delivery issues . has this been addressed or solved by the powers that be ?no .and ill bet that this current issue will not be rectified either.
until it is , and the magazine is, i will stand where i stand .
JWW, yeah ive had a great time on here helping folks out when i could, but more often than not it was someone who was "squaring me away".take a guy like cotten ,how many times has he been pestered on here to help people get their gas and carby problems fixed.those solutions took the guy YEARS to figure out ,not to mention he has to repeat the process every spring (it seems).obviously there are a lot of fellas on here with a wealth of info, i appreciate all they do , as does everyone else im sure.however the scotsman in me says enough is enough.
            "i'll hang around as long as you will let me"{ but im sure when they realize that my money is gone then so will i ,be gone.}

              cheifrider,
I suppose i have been either lucky or relaxed with my expectation of the delivery of the Magazine. Always seems to arrive within a week or so of most other folks. Guess if my livelihood was effected by its arrival I would have stronger expectations. It is a great publication. I'm glad we are on the delivery side of error and not the quality side of error.
There has been more explanation on this forum this week than ever. I really have no desire to wonder or question why communication has been the way it has for 54 years. I also don't care why we have recieve the communication. I'm just glad that the dialog has started. I suspect some productive seeds have been planted on this forum this week. I also suspect that if the tone of this forum remains persistant and respectable, we will enjoy a better AMCA. Ya'll have a good weekend, i'm going to ride. The weather is GREAT in Mississippi.

                  Hey Johnny
First day of spring here in Ohio, watching that white stuff come down again. So take your great Miss. weather and shovel it! That is about as close as I can get to humor after this winter. At least I have 3 bikes ready to ride...........................

Beautiful weather here in SC - rode my Heritage Springer to work today and to the sickle shop for parts. Going to the Charlotte CBA swapmeet tomorrow for our Chapter meeting, taking the '41 EL. Temps in the high 60's!

Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, I wonder where the birdies is?

It seems that this issue is always conviently blown off when members ask. Why won't you tell us?? If the price was published in the minutes, then it is public knowledge (or should be) and could be descussed out in the open. It's this lack of comunication that causes distrust among the membership (as this has been stated before). My first gut reaction is are you hiding something? Then in turn this makes me wonder what else the board is hiding from us. You have "tossed us a bone" to get us off your back but this has only raised more questions about what is going on. Put your cards on the table as I don't believe we are hearing everything.

Hey, fella, the magazine gets mailed on time, if yours is late talk to the postal service. That is something the board cannot control.

As I told chiefrider the delivery issues with the mag. are beyond the AMCA boards control. Talk to your post office.

TCB there are previous threads on the forum dealing with the magazine and the AMCA's use of the least efficient form of posting the magazine out. If they were to spend more of the dues on a business post instead of the current postal class they use, it would improve things.

It is within the AMCA's control to improve things by using a better postal class and stop scrimping on the cost of the postage, after all the Club isn't bankrupt is it ?
