6V Delco Remy Horn - need help

    I used a sheet of paper gasket material from NAPA. The rubber that insulates the electrical posts are insulators to keep the posts from shorting out on the metal shell. I traced the outer circle and then used an Exacto razor knife to cut out the inside and bolt holes. I used the top gray gasket sheet in this assortment of gasket material.

      BTW, I did not make the post insulators but that could be fabricated with a grommet or other plastic tube. However, be mindful of heat, petroleum, and vibration when fabricating motorcycle parts. It's a rough environment. I would try chainsaw fuel line for an example.

        That made me laugh! I overhauled mine not long ago and that's exactly how it sounds! I was thinking the 'Road Runner' but the jeep from MASH is better.

        My insulators fell apart on disassembly, so I used some PEEK and machined some new ones. Probably overkill, but I had it already and it worked just fine...
