I'd personally love to see more of the Phila. police bike photos - my Mom was born there in '11 and lived there until '47 when she married my dad and move south. Lived just off Lancaster Avenue on Preston Street.

You took those photos, Joe? You're much older than you look! Copyright ownership does not pass to whoever owns a scanner and posts an old photo to an internet forum, is all Chris is alluding to. Copyright has long expired in the case of almost-hundred-year-old photographs we all enjoy here. No one's making any money off your, or anyone else's scans posted to this non-profit site, nor is anyone else. Just a suggestion.

Just me being facetious. Photographers call it "watermarking," when they overlay their names on their photos for identification, or to protect copyrighted material from possible use by someone for commercial means without payment of royalties. That's all. On the forum, here, it takes away from enjoyment of the photos. Merry Christmas!
