  • I'd personally love to see more of the Phila. police bike photos - my Mom was born there in '11 and lived there until '47 when she married my dad and move south. Lived just off Lancaster Avenue on Preston Street.

The scans are fine. Except you left a piece of paper with a cartoon on it on the scanner bed under the pictures.

          • You took those photos, Joe? You're much older than you look! Copyright ownership does not pass to whoever owns a scanner and posts an old photo to an internet forum, is all Chris is alluding to. Copyright has long expired in the case of almost-hundred-year-old photographs we all enjoy here. No one's making any money off your, or anyone else's scans posted to this non-profit site, nor is anyone else. Just a suggestion.

here is a picture I got from the Sea Isle City Museum , when I had my shop in town.
This was in the files from 1920's when they used to race motorcycle 7 cars on the beach in Sea Isle city NJ

                  • Just me being facetious. Photographers call it "watermarking," when they overlay their names on their photos for identification, or to protect copyrighted material from possible use by someone for commercial means without payment of royalties. That's all. On the forum, here, it takes away from enjoyment of the photos. Merry Christmas!

Aw, guys, cut her a break! (think it might be Miss Fire Island?) Whoever it was, she's long pushing up daisies somewhere, and was probably someone's grandmother before that happened.
