Strange ones

This is a really cool photo Scott.
There is a bike that for sure is influenced by this, made by a crazy Finnish guy. This is based on a Indian Army Scout, with blower and single sided rearframe as well as hub steering front.
As this bike is built in modern times I dont risk posting images here, Its on my blog if anyone care. It is just amazing.

The bike in the pic posted by Scott must be very early with features such as the single sided rear and hub steering?
Anyone know its history?

So many great pictures !!! Sverre , Mr Jeppesen is riding what looks like a 'Weil' motorcycle , which although I have no trace of , could be a one off (everything started as a one off) , the engine though is a 1904 German Fafnir , same as my 'one off' James H.Smith of 1904 vintage , although the J.H.Smith was made in England , a lot of one off bikes were made in that period , sounding out possible production , some made it , a lot didn't no doubt , so guess it is of German manufacture of 1904 vintage with a Fafnir engine .

Hi Ken, thanks for info on the Weil ridden by Mr. Jeppesen.
As pr. lately I have started collecting photos of any bike whoo seems to be like pre 1910. I admit that my focus when collecting previously have been American made motorcycles.
I will continue to post some more of those early european machines.
Any idea on the very old bicycle like motorcycle in my previous post?

Thanks for posting that picture Perry. I think it's a 1919 and the rear brake is the give-away but his leg is blocking the shot. It looks like a Schwinn double acting brake. Regardless, it's a great picture and it's rare to see a 1919 at all. I think the American motorcycle fraternaty of 1919 knew that Schwinn had a new motorcycle up his sleeve (the K model) so the Detroit style 1919 was a tough bike to sell. Most of the old pictures I've seen of '19's have been from Euroupe which is where most of them seemed to have sold.

(I only wish I had a machine that could use wicker repair; Instead I have an heirloom Heywood Bros. desk to conserve.)
