Never had a N.J. gas attendant even attempt to gas a bike for me. Seems like law or not they were gun shy to fuel bikes. Maybe they have stories of skulls getting cracked for spilling all over a custom paint job.

If I'm not mistaken... NJ is the only state now that is NOT a 'self serve" gas station state. It's illegal.

Jersey used 2 plates on bikes up till 1969 I think, here is a fuzzy photo of my father's Scout with a front plate and a 1969 registration sticker....
