Tom, I'm glad you identify these racers when you can. It's a precious history about the most fearless competitors in American sports. I still lean to Red Parkhurst, but I can see the physical similarities with Otto Walker. The guy in the middle could also be Ralph Hepburn who was racing Harleys at that time.

Comparing faces in these old photos, Eric,..

Is like making out faces in the clouds, but I have at least a handful with Red, and he seems more rugged than our mystery rider.

So we must include any clues we can in text. (Beware however, I snagged a pic labeled as Ludlow, and then Walker!)

PS: Here's one of my favorites,.. Farmer Joe Wolter is nearly always on the far left, and here it looks like Red is third from the right squeezed in without a machine.
Naming any of the other racers would be delightful!

I think you're right about that not being Red Parkhurst. In this photo, I believe the rider, 5th from the left is Daredevil Derkum. Also notice the handlebars on the far right motorcycle.

The bike all the way to the right is most likely a 1913/14 Jefferson single. You can tell by the forks. I recognize the rider but can't think of his name right now. I'll look it up and let you know.

The racers last name is Hamilton. He was a factory racer for the Waverley Mfg. Co. in Jefferson. This is one opf 4 photos from a race at the Jefferson County fairgrounds in 1913.
