I've been tied up for a while but wanted to respond to a post from a day or two ago that since has been deleted. That post referred to the attached item from the October 2020 Board minutes. Taken at face value the Board intends for the current forum to fade away, to be replaced by a new forum operated with the Club Express software the AMCA uses for its accounting, membership records etc.

While switching to Club Express for the forum is fine in principle, unless there is a way to port all the posts, photographs and attachments from this forum (operated with vBulletin software) to Club Express, anything further written here is destined to disappear.

It's not as simple as someone saying the posts will be transferred, since it's by no means clear that's even technically possible. I'm a member of another club going through this right now and after many assurances that nothing would be lost, it now seems pretty clear it is impossible to port their current forum and its extensive information to Club Express.

So, those of us who post here on a sinking ship?

Hopefully all the threads of invaluable information can be migrated to the ClubExpress platform.

          Hmm, that is interesting.

Before we pass judgment on the plan -- let's see what Mike and Keith have to say.

I can just as easily read this as affecting only the junior membership section of the existing forum.

Our club minutes are "interesting" at times with regard to clarity. In this case, the word "forum" seems to refer to this forum and a new junior forum with the two intermixed in the sentences. It's sorta like using pronouns instead of names to describe a conversation (eg I talked to him and we talked to her but no one talked to them). You convey information but the intent is easily obfuscated.

I am often supprised to see posts that sit without a single response for a long time, once they get one then more folks chime in, kinda like a bunch of kids afraid to answer as they may not have the perfect answer. I would rather get an opinion that is one persons "reality", "perspective" or whatever as sometimes I just need that one tiny bit to open my eyes and get me going again. By the same token I, as many others may read something and get the entirely wrong understanding of what the OP is trying to say or ask and may spit out a response that in the end has nothing to do anything the OP wanted, Damn the luck, but if we pull up our big girl panties and keep trying we may help someone by accident one day, none of us know everything about anything.

I am starting to see a lot more traffic on the site. "New Topics" often goes a full page or more per day.

Wait, wait, how do you increase the font size? I went to my settings but could not find a way to increase the size. I'm not tech savvy and need a little help. Thanks.

                      With most browsers, John,...

There a reply box at the bottom of the page with 'Upload Attachments" and 'Upload from URL" beneath it, and a string of bewildering buttons above it. I have no clue what the first button does but the second says "Font" (if you want to get fancy) and the third says "Size", which always takes a few tries to get it the way you like.

(If you just want to view it larger on your monitor, start by right-clicking on the open desktop and choosing 'properties', and hope your operating system makes it simple.
But if you are on a phone, I would be lost too.)

                      Hope I helped,..

So . . . what is the consensus:
Was the bike helmet the original "man purse"?!?!?!?
