Oh, I see what you mean now. I have a digital copy.
    Thanks, Joe.

741B Speedometer from AU Birthisel 2.JPG 741B Speedometer from AU Birthisel 3.JPG Well, I finally obtained an original speedometer, though the only thing off is the needle. Did Indian use a different one in 1941 or 1944? The 1942 and 1943 parts photos each look like my repro one I bought from Ziggy. The needle on this speedometer looks very similar to an Austrian military 741B speedometer I saw for sale online once, though I don't know if that one was original.

1941 Group 6203.jpg Found the 1941 manual image.
Looks the same in all three manuals.

          JR,

I would think you meant the Australian army (Austria were the bad guys).

Here is the picture Hatfield has in his restoration book:

And here is the speedo on the 741 I used to have:

The needles are different, and the odometer numbers are black on white, so that’s different. But there was a war on after all, so they probably used whatever they had. And there were probably different vendors that made them.

Well, I know, but the ad at the time said something about being used in the Austrian Army. I don't think the seller realized the origin.
I could not find a photo of that one. Anyway, the needle on the one I just bought looks almost homemade. Like you said, could be original, though not at all like the standard ones you see.
Here's my NOS from Ziggy that I will move over to the one above.
Is it also correct to say the housing light hole has three notches on originals and is smooth on reproduction cans? -JR
