For info, the Harley full pan seat bases weren't perforated until about 1940. When the full pan seat was introduced in 1934, to replace the earlier Mesinger, it looks like the rear plate went from two holes each side to three, to give more adjustment, as on the WLA seat shown earlier..

Sorry, I need the one pictured. I believe Greer sells repops, they have the hole for the seat post but they work if you are not a purist (I’m not and it’s hardly visible)

How can you tell a reproduction bracket from an original? Is there a part number or distinguishing feature to look for?
I just bought one from Dillon, MT and the description said the seller does not know for sure which it is.

I never thought to look but sure enough some stamped marks a “2” and an upside down A in a hexagon…..

Thanks, Joe. I tried to track down the stamps we could not identify on many Indian Vertical parts and not even some foundry organization members could help at all to identify the factories that were sub-contracted to make them; SDF, CM, the wing and H or the DAC on some cases. Still a mystery.
