On Harleys I never turn out the nipples. I cut them and then peel them out. You chance running threads by turning them out.Originally posted by RonH View PostI am looking to find out if someone has a nipple removal tool they could post a picture of? also a rivet install tool, Thanks in advance

Agreeing with Jerry, the design is the same for Indians, Folks!Originally posted by Jerry Wieland View Post

(Although they are more forgiving...)
If this link still works, anvil tooling for reinstallation is shown.

Extra attention should be given to sealing the rivet, using a tapered head instead of a button head:

The taper seals into the nipple from the inside, pressed outward by the cam-action anvil, so a malleable rivet can easily barrel out on its shank for a seal, and "upset" to a slight mushroom outside to lock it.
Over-peening is the mark of an amateur; Please bubble-test again after any sealant has cured.
