    Speedometer Drive Information

Near as I can tell, this is what you need for the two different size wheel ran on the Chief. Does anyone dispute the pinion gear off set numbers? I may be guessing at the dimensions but one is definitly longer than the other. I don't know why but I'm not 100% sure I haven't mixed them up. Also; if anyone knows what's correct for the 19" wheels on the VL's I would like to know. Thanks guys. Oops, I just found another piece of information that might help.

John, like you said, there are two different pinions for 18 inch and 16 inch wheels. Kiwi Mike had a small amount of info on the web site.

I didn't know that. Thanks Ron. Terry Marsh knows his stuff to. My sense is the 19" wheel on the VL's must use the 50T set up. Oh well. Cheers

Dear John, the 4.50 x 18 tyres have the same diameter as the 4.00 x 19 so these would both use the 50 tooth gear, with the 4.00 x 18 tyres the 48 tooth ring gear.
