G day everyone, I have a question on how can I determine if the cast iron heads are high or low compression without pulling the motor apart, this is a running bike , person who did the top end is no longer with us . Another problem with the bike it has scout fork legs not chief so the bellcranks are pointing at 1 clock has anyone got a contact for these, cheers Rob

My understanding is that cast iron heads 32-35 were standard compression & aluminum heads were for the Y motor, I don't know of a 3rd option.

      Hatfields Resto guide 1935 std.comp. 74715 rear,74714 front

optional low compression 74717 rear,74716 front
I don't believe they are marked, low comp. may have noticeable bigger gap between head and cylinder, and I think cast iron pistons.
