rear brake drums chief

have these two rear brake drums, when disassembled the bearings popped right out is this normal or should they be pressed in? thanks chris

my drum bearings don't fall out, but they aren't really pressed in either...a few taps on a block of wood with an 8oz hammer is enough for either an install or disassembly.

thanks for the input, my bearing does fall out ithink i will wrap it with a layer of sheet stock, unless someone thinks this is a bad idea? thanks chris

5205 is the rear drum bearing.

If I am not mistaken, there is a small set screw that retains the bearing. You could make a small notch on the outside race for the set screw to sit in. Years ago I had mine loosen up and the bearing spun inside and ruined the hub. Mike at Kiwi advised me to install the bearing with Locktite bearing retainer (green) 609. It has been good ever since (early 90's repair).
