Whatever material Indian used for casting is experience proven weldable with Ni rods. The OP said his frame is neckless so best repair is sweat brazing another neck on to remove any doubt. Mangled frames still pop up for sale that can be cannablized.

Guys, thanks for all the advice! I'm getting some other advice from some good welders I know who have worked with cast iron and the advice is all over the place! (i.e. use stick with hi nickel, use oxy/acetylene with cast rod and flux, braze only, etc...) Pre and post heat seems to be a consistent theme though.
I'm certainly not an expert welder, but I'll do something even if it's wrong...and I'll let you know what I try
