    Yes, I hand drilled the holes. I did have trouble getting some of the spokes in--had to muscle them in place. Will try to get a picture posted.

        Nice. I only tried once and the spokes "bowed" to get the rim offset right.

          Is that based on your having 1946 Chief CDF6333? Any pictures? Thanks.

            No. I did mine the "right" way, orig Kelsey Hayes rims (painted black) and correct size nipples. I did them over with new repro rims in 2012 after a car smashed me and I went to chrome rims as almost all the assembly line pcs in 46 showed chrome 16" rims and handlebars. The old Kelsey Hayes rims would never have cleaned up for chrome.
            I used to do a lot of wheel lacing and tried the HD rim and spokes for a customer. I bailed and he took it elsewhere and I never followed up. I wasn't at all happy with the HD rim nipple angle.
