1970 Brake Switch Wire

I seem to recall that the wires that run from the brake switch to the coil and junction terminal were secured to the swing arm tube by a spring clip. If so, what is the Part Number of that clip? If not, how were these wires secured to the swing arm or frame?

Ok - so nothing on the use of a clip. Given that, does anyone know if, after the wires leave the switch, do they wrap around the bottom of the swing arm or over the top? Also, while not shown in the parts book, were any wire tie-wraps used anywhere on the XLCH in 1970? I know they were commercially available then, but no reference seems to is made.

The brake wires on my wife's 69 H go over the swing arm and then up. I don't know if this is correct, though... A zip tie is shown in the 71 parts book, but is listed as holding the front brake light wires to the handlebars.

Thank you for responding. Someone on the XL forum also stated that they go above the swing arm. But above or below, I just don't see how they can make the two 90 two degree turns and stay in place without a tie wrap.

The wife's brake switch wires are zip tied to the swing arm and to the down tubes, again I don't know if this is correct.

I spoke to very knowledgeable Sportster guy yesterday and he stated at that time, the wires were taped to the swingarm.

Ah Ha! - That makes sense, as friction tape was used by the factory on my '47 (and other earlier bikes) to hold the loom to the secondary support under the gas tank. Thank you to sharing that information!
