    correct finish??

Could someone tell me what the correct finish is for the nut that holds the battery support to the rear frame downtube is on a 68 flh?? Is it painted black, cad, or something else? What is the finish on the stud also? Thanks in advance.

    I'll check

In a few weeks I will see a person who has an unmolested 68. I will try to remember to check this out for you. The only thing touched or changed on this bike was the starter was rebuilt and repainted a couple of years ago. Cam

It is Parkerized. The stud is part of a rubber isolator. They were usually zinc plated.
