    whats in my hole

anyone know what the hole was used for behind the front lifter block on a 50 pan. It still looks like it is a half inch deep and maybe 1/4 inch or so.

That hole should be blocked. It was where the factory drilled in the cam/tappet oil for 48 and up.

It is a cross drill passage to allow oil feed to the heads.

Sounds to me like it is exactly like it is supposed to be.

There should be a pressed-in welch plug at the bottom of it.

            Don't fix it!
