Yes Duke. I'm working away from home now, but will try to post a photo over the weekend. I suspect that you're right....Bill Pedalino

Duke,
Please see the attached photos...
I'm still waiting for the sliders that I won on eBay - I suspect (hope) that the left slider will be different that the one I have.Bill Pedalino

I just received the replacement lower legs and as Duke suspected, the left lower leg that I originally had appears to be aftermarket - it's axle elevation is more than 1/4" lower (longer) than stock. The stock left slider fit's correctly and the axle lines up perfectly. Problem solved! Now I just have to get it polished (an option in 1953), replace lower the gasket and the fiber wiper, and re-assemble. Thank you all for your input.Last edited by billpedalino; 03-07-2026, 01:39 PM.Bill Pedalino

Yes - it was a bit if a head-scratcher - Thanks for the input. Now I have an left slider that's pretty much useless - I can only sell it to someone that has a matching right slider. Fat chance!Originally posted by Rubone View PostHmmm, first line of post 6....Bill Pedalino
