Hello Rubone and thank you for your reply.

My concern is not how to connect the wires, but the actual routing of the wires from the timer to the coil..

Does the loom just run down the timer through a clip at the crankcase, then after the rear cylinder turn towards the coils?

    Thank you

Same as every other model, there are just two wires instead of one.

        Noted! Thank you!

Its just that when you spend time getting it down to the details, every detail is haunting you back!

Are you sure for a '61-'64 model? Maybe I'm incorrect, but my '62 is wired per the schematic on page 5B-20. The wire goes directly to keyswitch terminal #1 which is always hot. On my '69 the wire goes from the button to terminal 25 then to keyswitch #5 which needs the switch turned for that horn to work. Never thought much of it until my grandson was on the bikes and one horn would work and the other wouldn't. Am I wired correctly?

            Hello again
Can someone explain why the regulator can either be found on the coil side or on the right side on 64 duo glides?
Was this dictated by the equipment? Or if it was a police bike?
            Thanks a lot

Right side is standard civilian bike , two component regulator for standard Model 61 generator. Left side is three component regulator for radio equipped bikes used along with the fan cooled generator. The oil tanks differ for the specific use as well due to the large battery needed for the radio bikes.

                Thanks Rubone!

What i can see here is a regulator on coils side with three components as you say.

The 64 Panheads we have here are all Police and therefore all regulators are mounted on the coil side so have no other point of reference.

                Hence the question

                Thanks

Therefore is it correct to say that bikes with the regulator mounted on the LH side have definitely a fan cooled generator?
Irrespective if the bike has a traditional horseshoe oil tank?

Need to know if i have a fan generator as it will matter on the wiring i am doing.

                  Thanks

The appearance of the generator is very obvious if fan cooled. It has a large cast aluminum end on the clutch pedal side.
