    Linkert Manifold Gaskets

Any suggestions on the best manifold gaskets to use? I have some smooth ones I believe came from Colony kits and also have some course ones that look like asbestos I bought in bulk at Oley. Or none of the above?

    Asbestos sounds yummy, Otis!

Otherwise, most modern productions have an embedded sealant.

Beware of three-bolt gaskets cut disastrously close to the top bolt hole.

What a useful observation and advice, Tom. I'm putting carburetor on tomorrow, so I'll be looking at that gasket. Thanks.

If your manifold flanges are ground/lathe-cut, Eric,..

        Greased butcher paper will do.

Takes a good gasket hammer though.
