I've seen a pattern of fitment issues when fitting aftermarket choke levers and lever rods. They simply don't work correctly. After some modifications you can get them to work ok...
There are variables that can alter the smooth and correct operation of the choke system. The combination of parts I've analyzed that can effect the out come are the following:
1) choke lever
2) choke lever rod
3) upper motor Mount
4) carburetor/intake gasketing
5) choke shaft arm
Each of these can have their faults/wear that is obvious when examined...
My question is:
Does anyone have a source they can share that sells a reproduction choke lever and choke lever rod that are made correctly?

I've had to re-bend, in multiple locations, the rod. If I use a pattern from a old OEM rod I have, things then work...
This leads me to believe someone is doing this and selling them.
The lever, as well, has variations in dimensions that cause fitment and operation issues.
Now it is important to remember the two parts shown above are located in their home position by the upper engine mount.
If someone has successfully located sources for these parts that fit accurately, please share.
Thank you,
Duke
