  • fuel tank repair fittings

    Does anyone have a source for the right side fuel fitting, tank is going to the weld shop to get a hole repaired, bike is 65 flh with 5 gallon tanks

      Sorry nobody speaks up, 65flh..

      Its a common flare, so find a similar steel fitting, and carve it to sit within the rolled ring on the tank, after shaving off the damaged nipple.

      Then tell your welder that if he can't silver-solder, he's a one-trick-pony.

        Thanks for the reply Tom, I found someone that had a repair fitting and was nice enough to sell me one. I also found that the flare fitting is an an-4.

          Many hardware stores will sell you something you can cut and use, 65flh....

          The trick is cutting and applying it without it looking obvious.

          (Or leaking, of course.)
