I have been using Valvoline VR1 20-50 conventional racing oil in my Pan for many years. Never a problem, lots of Zinc.

It has been beaten to death on here and elsewhere. I use Harley 60 wt cause the HD shop is less that a mile from my house and is about the same as comparable oils in price..

My dealer carries straight weight and so does my local independent bike shop.

H-D specifies straight weight ("W" does not mean weight) based on air temperature. 60 is correct if it never gets cold.

Kitabel, I have always understood the "W" to mean weight as I'm sure many others have also. Please enlighten us with the correct meaning, I know it's not referring to temperature but I think to flow rate. The weight meaning may come from heavy (higher number) object moving slower, and it just transferred to oil ? Thanks in advance. Smitty
