I dare you.
The skill-gap in this society is not only self-depreciating, it is sinful.
AMCA's approach to vintage motorcycling used to be about dedicated renovation.
Now its about stick-um tape. Is that the future of Historical motorcycles?

Skill gap? You don't know me, Tom and you don't know my skills, and work. I've been reproducing Henderson, and Excelsior parts for years. I do small runs for devotees of brand X, and I have had no complaints. You have a very high opinion of yourself which can be healthy, but also arrogant. Pride comes before the fall you know.

And this was my 1916 Excelsior build. Let's see one of your bikes, Tom.

Back closer to topic, remember this?: http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/bbo...light=saw+cuts
As I posted, I do this for a living, and this sort of repair is now routine.
Soft-soldering a stud on a brass badge is far easier!

PS: Manufacturing from scratch is far easier than fixing a fossil, but that's what's asked of me.
Otherwise, Folks would just buy an imported repop, if it exists.
Preserve vintage motorcycling by supplying bolt-ons...
Or preserve the skills that produced them?
Think about it.Last edited by T. Cotten; 11-19-2017, 03:37 PM.AMCA #776
