hi, my 74b carb has #1 jet... is this right one? I think its too lean.
the carb is on 49FL. please advise.

was probably run on 45" WR...try a #19........................................or maybe 18. I have seen this before but with a #5

Many were poorly stamped; The '9' may be invisible..
A #19 would have a .099" opening (2.52mm) with last eighth of an inch (31.8mm) of its bore drilled to .082" (2.08mm)
A #1 would have a .052" (1.38mm) bore, and could be drilled out, although its final sizing should be lapped.

Beware of common catalog offerings that are not even close!

The M74 with no 'B' used the #17, but it also had a different highspeed needle point.
