      Unless the valve guides were cut down and the spring travel checked and/or the collars were changed, a higher-lift cam would cause coil-bind long before the rocker arm would hit the pan cover.

          Pushrod length has no effect on the relaxed or open position of the rocker arm. Unless of course it is grossly out of adjustment. But in that case the engine won't run!
