  • Greasing wheel bearings

    Hello everyone,
When greasing front wheel bearings thru the grease fittings should I pump
the grease in until it comes out the ends of the axles, the owners manual
makes it sound like to much will get all over the brakes. I have a 62
Flh, 57 kh and a 47 knuckle head, none of them have been used for many
    years.
I know I need to remove the wheels to really see what is going on in there
but just trying to get things lubricated so the can be ridden sparingly
to see what else they may need.
    Thanks, Karl

    Karl,
I remember reading in my Pan manual that after rebuilding hubs you squirt 1 oz. of grease into the hub through the grease fitting. The MoCo also noted excess grease may/would sling into the drums.

I'm guessing I need to find a "metering" grease gun! Ha-ha!
