You are referring to the two raised castings on the brake drum, located at the outer edge on the flat side, 180-degrees opposite to each other.Lonnie Campbell #9908

If I remember correctly I saw another style at Davenport this year, it does not have the 2 tabs as in photo 1 but it is circular at the center where it mounts to the hub as in photo 2, (meaning the boss is not star shaped).
