Linkert M74b gasket nozzle

On 3/4 inch of the top of the nozzle is a kind of a gasket ring.
I can't find anything like this in the H-D manuals.
In the "Linkert Book 2.1"by Victory Library on page 6 there is shown a nozzle with a gasket.

What is correct ? A nozzle with or without a gasket.

The phenolic seals used upon some military, 'bombsight', and perhaps other models, sat on the shoulder above the one you found.

The M-74 series was not spec'd to use one, but worn venturi openings benefit from a thin modern seal.
Thicker seals may be desired to locate the nozzle opening within the venturi bore, such as when 1 1/2" nozzles are applied to a 1 1/4" model.

The engine doesn't respond to idle- and highspeed needle movement.
I'm searching for a possible cause.

Even with wear, and even reversed assemblies of some parts, the Schebler Deluxe/L&L Model M design is quite 'forgiving'.

Even 'accomodating',
as many fellows have forced tuning to allow for vacuum leaks.
So before anything else, it is prudent to eliminate all possibilities of a leak.

Curing even the tiniest of vacuum fissures will allow even a "wrong" Linkert to dial in reasonably.
