  • Springer Handlebars, oem vs repop?

Anything particular to differentiate an OEM from (possibly early) aftermarket handlebar?
    on handlebar casting?

I pickedup a inline standard and they look old. are brazed

The authority on OEM vs. repop would be tom faber: fabercycle on this forum. He knows more about the differences in H-D bars than anyone else I know.
No one can help you without t least a photograph, anyway.

The older imported re pop bars from V-Twin were crap (Imagine that). The center casting was too thick. You needed to file the bars to get the spirals on. Re pop bar from Tom Faber fits and looks right.

his handlebars are the nicest being made and he makes sure your satisfied with the deal.as I found out ordering bars for a 1915 he sent what I thought was 1916 and later but I was wrong and he was right, and he still swaped them for the bars I wanted, and he's great to deal with very easy going

Show a picture of the collar that the spiral stops against.

Ok, I guess there's no more pics...... Your casting looks to be a repro from the looks of the pad around the center hole is wider than oem, and the tube sockets are not as tapered as oem. I'm guessing they are David Sarafan bars from the 80s. David isn't a fabrication shop, I'm sure he imported them from overseas. Doubtful if they are v-twin, as those would have even more issues that don't look right.

              Hope that helps you.
