I'm thinking that sticking with the parkerized manifold for my early 47 is correct. Also I have heard that the push rod covers are cad not chrome. Any thoughts on that.
So are the push rod covers be chromed or cad on the 47 EL? Palmer book says chrome, however I have seen a builder putting on cad covers.

That wouldn't be the first time a builder was wrong.

What finish should the 3 oil line fittings 63533-15 (oil pipe nipple) be? 2 are coming off the pump, 1 off the case. Cad or parkerized? I can only find information on the oil lines themselves.

          thanks

I believe cad. I don't know lines were ever parkerized. There is an oil lines thread below. Cheers, Sirhr

I know the oil lines are cad. I've seen both cad and parked oil fittings on the pump

Here is a late 1946. All the fittings on the oil pump appear to be Parkerized. Did this carry over to 1947? I can't say. The 1948 shows a Parkerized fitting on the case but cadmium plated on the pump.
