ordered in a missing part for the 39 which is the speedo cable clamp that mounts to the left engine case on the stud that runs from the left case to the right case where the carb mount bolts to.
The clamp fills in the opening between the serial number embossment area and the 2 aluminum fingers that run up for about 1/2" or so.
I've been trying to find close up images of how this works, is there a spacer behind the clamp? Also, the stud that is used on this 39 is short and leaves no room for the reproduced Colony product clamp that has an open jaw thtga looks like it requires the jaw to be clamped down before mounting.
Can anyone fill in the missing blanks on this?
Found out there is only 4 maybe 5 Knuckleheads on this island and pickins' are slim to none when it comes to going to meets to see anything locally for reference.
Maybe someday a AMCA chapter can be organized here to develop more interest in older machines as this is sorely needed here.
