There is a 1944 F project available..but I'm not quite sure of that combination. What am I looking at with this model designation...?, is it a military model or a low compression civilian or police version..? or did this not exist..? Jeff

That statement is not true! They did indeed have odd bits of chrome where those items from stock were used to build the models approved for delivery. This continued until present stock was used up. Chrome parts that had been in inventory before the war were used, however any new manufacturing was in black or parkerized only. Period photos show this as well as Palmer verifying it in his book. By late '44 and '45 production virtually all models were totally blacked out!Unlike the 1944 shown in this clip they had no chrome anywhere on the motorcycle.
