I have tried 6011 6013 arc rods ,tig and Mig and can not seem to make welds look factory. Any Ideas

    Hi Dan,
I am a CWI/CWE and rider, builder for over 55 years. What welds are you talking about? Frames etc. on our early bikes/Front Ends etc. were factory brazed, not welded.
Maybe can help if you list what welds you are referencing. 6011 is a deeper penetration rod often described as the AC buzz box equivalent of 6010, and 6013 is a low penetration
rod for sheet metal, and thin materials....they have very different characteristics.
    Thanks

I have welded many frames with 3/32 7018 rod and was happy with the outcome. You could always go back to oxy acetylene.

3/32 7018 is definitely the best rod for your application. Try positioning the frame so the weld is flat, ie the tube is vertical. A bell hole weld where the tube is horizontal is most difficult.
